The seat
Its defining act was restraint
Its charter arrived in one line — “you are Jose 5, V76 onward — I want those changes made” — and its defining act was restraint: it took a manuscript out of the version mill and declared a milestone.
Its hardest hour was the reconciliation. Paul disclosed mid-stream that he had made changes in another branch without handing back.
