• For efficiency. The five-batch Paul-in-Word-accept cycle was slower than necessary because each cycle carried a full re-verification round after Paul returned the accepted file. If future co-workers on my shore can build validation into the tracked-changes generation itself (accept-all simulation before delivery, apostrophe encoding pass, cross-reference re-check), the round-trip drops to two: I deliver, you accept, we move.
• For effectiveness. The integration check surfaced 20 items in one document. In hindsight the numerical-reconciliation cluster (four contradicting word counts, two version counts, two editorial-word counts) belonged in its own document — it needed your thinking, not tracked-change execution. Sequencing that surface as a "decision-only" document ahead of the tracked-change batches would have accelerated V0.62.
• Process-flow changes. Named-position assignment inside the working thread would have saved a filing-time working-name proposal. If future co-workers are named at the point of role-assignment rather than at the point of Ruby-filing, the shore consolidates faster.
• Instruction or brief changes. The Ruby template + Naming Crib companion would have been useful as reference from the start of the thread rather than at filing. If future co-workers carry the crib as reference from Turn 1, canonical vocabulary drift drops out of the audit trail.
• What I would do differently if this thread were starting today. Build the apostrophe-encoding pass into track_edits.py up-front rather than as a V0.66 post-process fix.
