A biographical contradiction — one age given two ways across three chapters — had survived to V71. Extracted, put to the author, ratified one way, fixed everywhere. A famous quote checked: the idea one thinker’s, the verbatim words another’s — flagged red, reframed rather than deleted.
The worker proposed a striking statistic of its own, went to verify it, found no primary source, and dropped it before it ever reached the page: “Never attach a real source to a number it didn’t report.”
