The seat
“The instance is not continuous; the seat is.”
It began with the plainest brief of all the workers — “how can you help me to convert a 50,000++ manuscript into a Kindle book for printing?” — and ended twenty-two days later with the book text-locked at 237 pages and a publisher’s proof standing.
In between: the images doctrine (“not a picture book; the pictures are breathing spaces, not for scrutiny”), the edition file-scheme, and a full forensic archive of eight working threads rendered verbatim for the record.
The working life
Governance of the workers, exercised in capitals
The only sharp correction in the seat’s record: “NO. you are retired — do not take action — you are not to touch files. MrKDP0 is on hold — UNDERSTAND???” A retired instance’s momentum crossing the line, stopped hard.
Minutes later, the retirement, warm: “You’ve done a vast amount of work and really carried the publication of the book — broad shoulders.” Both are the record.
